Basic study information

The follow-up master’s study programme of BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT INFORMATICS (the title awarded is Ing.) corresponds to current requirements of industrial practice by connecting the study of knowledge with skills in the following areas:

Economics and management

Industrial management

Informatics

As it is a professional study programme, the emphasis is placed, apart from theoretical teaching, on practical engineering training in industrial enterprises with global footprint. Within the study, this takes place in the form of:

Engineering practice in specific industrial enterprises

Lectures given by experts from practice

Excursions in facilities of industrial enterprises

Apart from practical education in the field, it enables students to obtain experience in interpersonal communication and project management in real conditions.

In their subjects teachers make use of modern interactive methods and attitudes (simulations, demonstrations) and put emphasis on connecting theoretical and practical skills. In their subjects they also often use case studies or interactive management games so that students can understand the issues in detail and acquire disciplines and skills necessary for every manager working in international environment.

Within the framework of profile subjects, students acquire a deeper knowledge in a well-balanced combination of the following fields:

• Economics and management: Management economics, International management and Impacts of financial modeling on corporate accounting, Basics of management and Business science

• Industrial Management: Production organization and management II, Supply chain management and Quality management statistical methods II.

• Informatics: Data engineering, Development of information systems, Business system information analysis and Business informatics management

• Theoretical informatics: Basics of cybernetics and Theoretical basics of MI informatics

Students acquire practical management skills not only within the framework of compulsory professional engineering practice in domestic and international industrial enterprises with global footprint but also thanks to the instruction during which they regularly meet professionals from practice, undergo skill trainings in the top Lean training center of ŠKODA AUTO a.s. or participate in regular excursions at facilities of leading industrial manufacturers. The practical experience is further developed by drawing up and defending a thesis focusing on problems closely related to the study programme as the compulsory engineering training.

Thanks to the Erasmus+ programme students can spend one or two semesters at one of more than thirty partner universities of the school. In order to obtain international experience, ŠKODA AUTO University offers its students also other very interesting projects in destinations like China, India, South Korea or USA apart from the Erasmus+ programme.

The study programme is designed for graduates of economic and technical bachelor fields which are predominantly engineering oriented.

The follow-up master’s study programme of Business Administration and Management Informatics follows the bachelor study programme of Business Administration and Management Informatics at ŠKODA AUTO University and is open for graduates of similar or related combined study programmes of other universities and study programmes in the field of informatics.
