DEPARTMENT OF MARKETING AND MANAGEMENT

The Department of Marketing and Management offers both Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes. It is the coordinating department of the Bachelor's programme Business Administration and Sales and the follow-on Master's programme Marketing Management in the Global Environment. It offers courses such as the Basics of Management, Basics of Marketing, Marketing Communication, International Trade, Public Relations and many others.

doc. Ing. Pavel Štrach, Ph.D., Ph.D.

Director of the MBA programme, Head of Marketing and Management Department


Pavel Štrach is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, the Faculty of Management (Bc., Ing.) and the Faculty of Business Administration (Ph.D.). He also completed his doctorate at the University of Otago, School of Business in Dunedin, New Zealand. His habilitation was in “management” at Prešov University. Since 2006, he has worked as a permanent guest professor at the IONA College, Hagan School of Business in New York. Between 2014 and 2016, he worked as the Professor for International Services and Innovation at the University of Applied Sciences, School of Management in Steyr, Austria. At ŠKODA AUTO University, he has worked intermittently since 2006 in different positions – Director of the MBA programme, Head of the Department of Marketing and Management and Vice-Rector for International Affairs Professional. Articles by Pavel Štrach dealing with the strategies in international business have been published in more than 25 countries on 4 continents, e.g. in Journal of Knowledge Management, Journal of Product and Brand Management or Behaviour & Information Technology.

Ing. Eva Jaderná, Ph.D.

Member of Marketing and Management Department


Eva Jaderná is a university lecturer. She graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice in the field of Commercial Business Specialising in Tourism (Ing.), followed by doctoral studies at the Faculty of Economics of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice in the field of Business Administration and Economics (Ph.D.). Between 2003 and 2017, she worked in small and mediums-sized businesses in the management of manufacturing and retail. Eva has published a number of academic articles and monographs, especially in the field of marketing and destination management. In terms of teaching, she specialises in B2B marketing, business management, tourism services, destination management and marketing. She has been a lecturer at ŠKODA AUTO University since 2015.

doc. Ing. Jana Přikrylová, PhD.

Jana Přikrylová is a docent at the Department of Management and Marketing at ŠKODA AUTO University. She completed her academic education at the University of Economics in Prague and Bratislava. In addition to the academic sector, she also worked in international trade organisations and as a consultant in different international projects. She taught MBA programmes in the USA and Canada and also cooperated in the preparation and teaching of international marketing in the Master’s in International Management programme, which is offered by the CEMS group, Global Alliance in Management Education. She teaches, publishes and coordinates courses and programmes in international business, marketing and sales.

Ing. Martina Beránek, Ph.D.

Member of Marketing and Management Department


Martina Beránek has extensive professional experience in all management levels, which she uses in teaching specialised courses. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University in Liberec in the field of study Business Management and Organisation. In the 1980s and 1990s, she worked in technical management positions. She then moved to the services sector, where she gradually worked her way up to a general manager position in a business. During this period, she also completed several internships abroad. She has published a number of expert articles, particularly in the field of tourism services. She has also co-authored a monograph on business operation. In terms of teaching, she specialises in general management, strategic management, system disciplines, strategic marketing and strategic analysis. She has worked with ŠKODA AUTO University since 2016.

Ing. Emil Velinov, Ph.D.

Emil Velinov was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he graduated in Industrial Engineering (Ing.) from the Faculty of Business Economics. He later obtained his Master's degree in production and operation management at the Technical University in Sofia. From 2010 to 2014, he studied and completed his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Economics and Administration at the University of Economics in Prague. Between 2007 and 2015, he worked for several multinational corporations such as General Electric, Oracle and Hoerbiger in Europe, North America and Southeast Asia in manufacturing, energy and IT, sales and marketing. Since graduating from the University of Economics, he has published many articles, especially in the field of international management and marketing, international business and diversity management. As part of his research and development activities, he was a project manager in many interinstitutional projects with small and medium-sized businesses and municipalities from Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Austria, Estonia, Bulgaria, Russia, etc., using specific financing mechanisms such as Norwegian grants and EEC grants, Visegrad Funds, CEEPUS, ESKAS and DoRa scholarships. He has worked with ŠKODA AUTO University since September 2017.

Ing. Jana Pechová, Ph.D.

Member of Marketing and Management Department

Jana Pechová graduated from the Faculty of Business and Economics at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague in the field of Business and Administration (1997, Bc.). She later graduated in Economics and Management (1999, Ing.) from the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University in Liberec. She obtained her Ph.D. in 2010 at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, the Faculty of Business and Economics in the field of study Management. Since 2000, she has worked in different positions at ŠKODA AUTO a.s.. For the longest period, she has been a specialist in the Department of Adult Education in the Vocational Training Group. Since 2012, she has worked at ŠKODA AUTO University as a lecturer in the Department of Marketing and Management. She has published a number of monographs and academic articles, particularly in the field of managerial competences. In terms of teaching, she specialises in management, personnel management, social communication, creativity and innovation.

Ing. Hana Volfová, Ph.D.

Member of Marketing and Management Department

Hana Volfová graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, all with a focus on tourism. During her doctoral studies, however, she began to focus more on marketing, specialising in consumer behaviour, marketing communication and sustainable economic approaches. She worked with companies such as TANY, s.r.o., or Hönigsberg & Düvel Datentechnik Czech on product launch projects (winning the EcoTrophelia CR award) or on changes to the marketing strategy of the company. In terms of her sustainable development activities, she created a fair-trade simulator for Fairtrade CR and an educational trail of fair-trade products. She has worked at ŠKODA AUTO University since 2013 and has been an assistant professor in the Department of Marketing and Management since 2019.
