Law in the Global Business Environment

The follow-on Master’s degree programme Law in the Global Business Environment builds on the general foundations of business management education applicable not only in the local conditions, but also in an international context. The wide scope of a corporate economist includes intermediate economics, international accounting standards, corporate finance management, including international taxation, global supply chains as well as the negotiation and communication skills and two global languages at an intermediate level.

The benefit of this field is its unique specialised section, where graduates acquire a broader overview of the principles and rules of private and public law and specialised knowledge of selected fields of economic law – especially in business relations, international, business and EU law, focusing on business and protection of fair competition. A field of study with this sort of specialisation is unique in the education market and it has potential in terms of employment opportunities.

Students can select a three-month work placement as a part of the block of compulsory elective courses. Work placement is intended primarily for students coming from other universities, so that they are able to gain the necessary work experience before completing their studies, which will improve their employment opportunities in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Under the Erasmus programme, students can also spend one or two semesters at one of more than 30 partner universities or in one of the Volkswagen Group companies. ŠKODA AUTO University also offers very interesting programmes outside of Erasmus allowing students to choose from destinations such as China, India, South Korea or the USA for their foreign stays.

The field is designed for creative young people who enjoy working in international environments and are ready to combine knowledge from economics and law.
