Business Administration and Operations, Logistics and Quality Management




The Bachelor’s study programme Business Administration and Operations, Logistics and Quality Management is focused on production management and the associated value chain of purchasing, production and sales. Students acquire deeper knowledge in the field of planning and designing production systems or logistics in production, including process simulation. This field of study is a response to new requirements and demands from the leading manufacturers in the automotive industry, of which ŠKODA AUTO is at the cutting edge in terms of logistics and quality management.

The courses focus strongly on practical applications. University studies dealing with planning and management of production,  logistics processes and quality is supplemented by practical courses taught by ŠKODA AUTO managers. In addition to expert knowledge, students will acquire a wide range of practical skills and experience. Regular courses providing production and logistics skills take place in a high-end Lean Center, ŠKODA AUTO’s  new training facility . The courses also include interactive management games and case studies.

Students acquire practical experience during their six-month compulsory internships and regular excursions to ŠKODA AUTO, other members of the Volkswagen Group or their suppliers in the Czech Republic and abroad. Talented students can develop their skills and experience through participation in specific projects for acquiring experience in the corporate sphere as well as research projects for the respective guarantor department.

The fifth semester includes a compulsory internship to increase the employment opportunities of graduates. Students most often choose ŠKODA AUTO for their internships as well as other partner companies of ŠKODA AUTO University or foreign companies, primarily within the Volkswagen Group, with the support of the Erasmus+ programme.

Under the Erasmus programme, students can also spend one or two semesters at one of more than 30 partner universities or in one of the Volkswagen Group companies. ŠKODA AUTO University also offers very interesting projects outside of Erasmus allowing students to choose from destinations such as China, India, South Korea or the USA for their foreign stays.

Graduates can further expand their knowledge and skills in a follow-on Master’s degree programme Business Administration and Operations. Given the extensive and comprehensive foundation of all Bachelor’s programmes, students will be ready to study other Master’s degree programmes offered by the school as well.

Graduate profile

Graduates of Business Administration and Operations, Logistics and Quality Management possess deep theoretical knowledge of technology and production management as well as practical skills acquired during compulsory internships and preparation of their theses.

Graduates of the field possess knowledge and skills in the area of theoretical and applied sciences such as theoretical economics, accounting and financial management, business law, taxation, marketing, management, theory of statistics and economic statistics, but also ICT working knowledge and the knowledge of two foreign languages. Other skills include extensive social competencies related particularly to communication and presentation as well as teamwork.

The appropriate combination of technical and economic knowledge, which graduates possess, allows them to apply their knowledge practically, differentiating them from graduates of other universities with a similar focus.

Graduates of Business Administration and Operations, Logistics and Quality Management have a wide range of employment opportunities in both the public and private manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors. Graduates will find employment as production managers, logistics controllers, heads of specialised departments of logistics, quality in manufacturing companies and companies focused on technology. They will also find employment in the public sector as economic experts of various authorities. Expanding and interconnected knowledge of economics, production and information technology contribute significantly to the wide range of employment opportunities not only within businesses.The high growth potential of the Czech and global automotive industry (both in terms of the number of cars produced, sales and exports) together with the fact that this industry is recognised as a leader in logistics and quality management by other industries, is the reason for the ever increasing demand for graduates of Business Administration and Operations, Logistics and Quality Management.
