Internship in Treves Slovakia s.r.o. - Evgenii Borodin

5/26/2015
Evgenii did his internship in a Slovak company, Treves – Slovakia s.r.o. However, he did not stay only in Slovakia– thanks to business trips, he also got to visit Barcelona in Spain or St. Petersburg in Russia. The work he did during his internship was undoubtedly quite diverse...
I did my professional internship in the winter semester 2014/2015 in a company called Treves – Slovakia s.r.o., based in Velká Lomnice, Slovakia. It is an international subsidiary of the French group Treves cooperating with most well-known automotive groups such as: RNA, VW Group, PSA and Toyota. The company manufactures car components - for example: head rests, car mats and seats.

I worked as a Project Lead. Globally, the company has two different production sectors. The first is the production of car mats and soundproofing. The second is the production of interior parts such as headrests, armrests and seats. Based on the decision of the management, we were assigned with locating production space, arranging modifications of the production hall and organising a transfer of one production branch to a new facility.

I mostly worked on creating Timing Plans, Action Plans used for the organisation of transfer of production equipment, people, material flows and implementation of work procedures, according to production standards and customer requirements. Unlike most internship positions, I had real responsibilities and it was very important for our team that my tasks were completed properly and on time. I communicated with many people both in Slovakia and abroad.

The internship was a very interesting and useful experience. I got to understand the inner workings of the company and I saw how people apply their knowledge practically every day. I can definitely say that many courses I took at ŠKODA AUTO University were applicable in my everyday work. These are things that every manager has to know and be able to do.

I also went on several business trips during my internship, within Slovakia and abroad. I visited the Treves plant in St. Petersburg and met my Russian colleagues. I have been to St. Petersburg more than ten times over the last ten years and I was very glad I could travel there again. The second trip to Barcelona was fantastic. I visited our suppliers and attended meetings with my colleagues. The next trip was to Bratislava. I was invited to attend a meeting with KPMG, a company known worldwide. That was a very interesting experience, because my field of study is related to finance and I would like to work in this field in the future as well.

After the business trip, I spent a weekend with my friends in Bratislava. We visited many historical monuments, tasted the local cuisine and had a great time. I also spent several weekends with my colleagues. One of them invited me to visit his summer home in the High Tatras. It was very interesting to spend a day with him and his family. I realised that Slovaks and Russians are very alike. They are very friendly and equally hospitable. I also got to taste the national dishes of Slovakia and tried mountain hiking. I really love mountains and this trip to the Tatra Mountains was unforgettable. I am sure I would like to visit this place again in the future.

In conclusion, I would like to say that this internship was a very enriching experience. I gained a lot of professional experience. Working with such professionals was a great honour for me and I also realised how interesting it is to work in the automotive industry. I can say that I had a very good time outside work as well: I met new people, travelled and improved my language skills. This internship helped me to start my career and I am sure that I will have many job offers in the future.

Our student Václav Volf travelled to Ingolstadt in Germany to do his compulsory internship in Audi AG. He worked in the Department for Coordination of Fair and Exhibition Vehicles, where he supported the permanent staff in the process of planning vehicles for fairs. He was responsible for this year’s exhibitions in Detroit, New York, Shanghai and partly also for the Frankfurt fair in autumn. You can read the whole report from his stay in Ingolstadt below.
Martina comes from Jičín but currently lives in Prague. She completed her follow-on Master’s degree programme at ŠKODA AUTO University in 2014. Right after graduation, Martina started working for Estée Lauder, first in the HR department. She worked her way through marketing to a PR position and currently takes care of promotion of seven world-renowned brands.
She likes to spend her free time doing sports – mostly running, badminton, volleyball and mountain hiking. Also, because of her profession, she likes fashion and design.
Viktor Myslil, a graduate of our Bachelor’s degree programme Business Administration and Operations, comes from Prague. His passion for ŠKODA AUTO cars made him decide to study in Mladá Boleslav. He also wanted to try something different than all his other classmates.
I have been dreaming about living in a foreign country since I was small child. This wish made ŠAVS more appealing during my “university selection period” because I learned, thanks to their Open Day and a visit from the ŠAVŠ PR Department to my high school, that this school offers a lot of possibilities to study and complete internships abroad, the latter which is important in one’s future career. When I got the opportunity to spend my mandatory internship abroad, I did not hesitate a single moment. After my Study Erasmus in Slovenia, I left to spend another semester in Dublin, Ireland to work with Škoda’s Irish importer.
Mladá Boleslav is the hometown of our graduate Ing. Ivan Vaněk, who currently works for the British luxury car manufacturer, Bentley Motors Ltd., where he undertook his six-month internship as a student of ŠKODA AUTO University.
Our graduate Michal Maruška works as a coordinator in the Connected Car and Infotainment Department. His internship involved many technical responsibilities. However, in order to further grow professionally, he needed a study programme that focused more on management. For this reason, he chose the Bachelor’s and follow-on Master’s degree programme Business Administration and Operations, both which combine the two fields in an ideal manner.
Ondřej is a graduate of the Bachelor field of study Business Administration and Financial Management and the follow-on Master field of study Corporate Finance Management in the Global Environment.
Our student Andrea listened to the advice of her classmates when choosing her internship. She also visited the Magna company booth at the ŠKODA AUTO University Career Day and she– this was the partner for her six-month internship.
I would recommend an internship to everyone. It is a great way to discover yourself, plus you get to learn the language and customs and most of all, it is an unforgettable experience.
Martin Dolejší, student of our Master Programme Global marketing and Sales, spend quite a lot of time abroad whilst studying at our university. You can read the interview we did with Martin to see what he learnt and how he assesses his stays abroad.
