Czech language and culture for Foreigners

The course Czech language and culture for foreigners prepares students for studies at Czech universities.


Czech language lessons also include lessons on social sciences and intercultural topics. The course includes English lessons and an intensive mathematics course during the pre-semestral period of the following academic year.


Students will be able to take specialised courses beyond the scope of the language course.

Total Czech language lessons: 480 lessons per year

Total English lessons: 90 lessons per year
Total mathematics lessons: 30 lessons per year
Total specialised course lessons: at least 40 lessons per year depending on the preferences of the student

Entry Level: beginner
Final level: individual user, at least B2 level of the CEFR

Upon completion of the course, students will understand written and spoken Czech. They will be able to use the language in everyday situations and will understand the basic scientific terminology. In addition to language proficiency students will know important information/facts relating to Czech history, culture and current affairs.
The English course focuses on review and development of proficiency and skills from secondary school in addition to overall language development.
Lessons of mathematics include basic terminology, theory and practical application focused on a review of secondary school knowledge.
The offer of specialised courses is based on the curricula of the school. If completed successfully, students can have the given course recognised in their study programme when enrolling to study at ŠKODA AUTO University.

Documents required for admission:


application form,
 a copy of the school-leaving certificate including certified translation into the Czech or English language,
 copy of ID / passport,
 copy of any international certificate proving English language proficiency at least at B1 level according to CEFR,
 telephone number and availability for potential phone interview,
 administrative fee of EUR 100.


English language proficiency must be proved by any internationally recognized certificate e. g.:

 IELTS 4.5; 
 BEC Preliminary;
 TOEIC 550;
 TOEFL iBT 57.

All admission documents must be sent in electronic formats, including the application form. Please send all documents to the email address provided below.
If at the time of application you have not yet completed secondary education, please send your diploma no later than the official start date of the course.
